FPU Update...blessed

I've been struggling with writing this post...I don't want this to come off wrong! BY NO MEANS am I saying "look at us", but in all honesty, I am trying to show that this is possible for EVERYONE that has the determination! Andrew and I are a very normal everyday couple. We make mistakes. We are not perfect. and we are by no means 'rich'.
In ALL ways, GOD has blessed us and made us "asset managers" of HIS money. After attending FPU, I learned a whole new way of looking at money (if you want to read more: God Owns It All)

I mentioned in my December post that we had paid off/gotten rid of over $30,000 worth of debt and were still on track to becoming debt free…well, I’m very BLESSED to say that we made a huge addition to that number over the past couple of months.

We are now up to having over $44, 000 worth of debt off our plate! Since the wedding (26 months), that is almost $1,700 per month!! We did have a vehicle change that made a decent impact, but for the most part, this has all been paid off debt! It makes me cringe at how much cash this is! When I was crunching the numbers, I didn't believe what I was seeing. I thought I had entered something wrong, so I erased and started over, only to end up with the same number. I'm flabbergasted!!! 

Trust me, it has NOT been easy, but we are determined to becoming debt free!! We are a team. We've been working hard since the wedding so that we can feel financially ready to start a family. And like I've said before, just because we are working to become debt free, doesn't mean we don't have a life! We still go out with friends, just not all the time. We still go out to eat, just not all the time. We don't own any credit cards. We got rid of the jeep and bought a truck, BUT we bought one we could afford and didn't go into more debt because of it. It was a slow start, but our determination got us to where we are today. Our "snowball" is continuing to roll and is very quickly growing to it's maximum circumference! Can't WAIT until the day we can official say the famous Dave Ramsey words "WE'RE DEBT FREE!!!"

To those of you that are just starting down your journey to becoming debt free (or to those that are thinking about starting the journey) - STICK WITH IT! At first you feel like you are getting nowhere and you are not seeing any progress...but as your snowball continues to roll, you will start seeing/feeling results faster.  Don't stop! It only gets better as you go! Think of the possibilities once you free up all the monthly budgeted debt $$$!? BE DETERMINED! FINISH STRONG!
